Pat was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai'i. He grew up with the ocean and the island culture being a big part of his life. Being able to push for "A bigger barrel, a better air then the last one", seeing himself progress along with the sport, makes bodyboarding not just a hobby but a passion. To meet new people and ride new waves teaches him to have the respect that others can only learn by doing the same.
